Facebook groups are a way for people to meet each other and connect based on some common interest. Among those other things are “buy n sell” groups, gaming groups, and specialty groups (like politics or career-based groups, for example).
Just like the standard Facebook emails that are sent to you all the time if you didn’t uncheck the setting, Facebook groups can load your Gmail inbox with just about every post and comment placed in the group(s) you joined. If your Gmail account is something you use on a daily/constant basis, this gets ridiculously overwhelming.
Use these simple steps to block the email you no longer want:
- Install Block Sender for Gmail by clicking the “Install” button found in the upper right-hand corner of this site. The installation won’t take long. Open Gmail when it is done.
- After signing up for a Block Sender account and linking your Gmail account to Block Sender, open the unwanted email from Facebook, and click the "Block" button on the messages toolbar.
- Select the "Emails with same subject" option.
Here we suggest to use the "Emails with same subject" option because blocking the email address would get rid of all emails from Facebook groups, which you might not want. Although if the emails don't all have the same subject then it might be best for you to block a certain phrase instead.
