Snapchat is a social networking app popular among teenagers and youngsters for connecting. Like other social apps, Snapchat also sends unnecessary email notifications, such as reminders to open unread messages, revisit memories, or check friend requests.
Considering Snapchat already sends mobile notifications, you likely find these emails annoying and want to get rid of them. If that describes your situation, you're in the right place. In this guide, we'll cover two methods to stop receiving emails from Snapchat.
Blocking is often better than unsubscribing, as Snapchat may ignore your unsubscribe request or the email might be a scam.
Unsubscribe from Snapchat Emails
Snapchat provides an unsubscribe option in their emails to opt out of their email list. The unsubscribe link is located at the bottom of the emails.
Here's how to unsubscribe from Snapchat emails:
- Open any email from Snapchat (Transactional emails such as password reset emails don't have an unsubscribe link).
- Click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email or the unsubscribe button at the top if you're using Gmail. (Make sure it's a legitimate email and not a scam).
- On the preferences page, uncheck the types of emails you no longer want to receive. To stop all Snapchat emails, select the first option and confirm your choice.
Block Snapchat Emails
Another way to stop Snapchat emails is by blocking them. You can use your email provider's built-in blocking feature or try Block Sender if you're looking for a quick and easy solution with more customisation than Gmail offers.
- Install Block Sender for Gmail if you haven't already. The installation won't take long. Open Gmail when it's done. (Block Sender is also available for Firefox).
- Link your Gmail account.
- Open any email from Snapchat.
- Click the Block Sender icon in the Gmail toolbar.
- Select "Block emails from this sender" from the dropdown.
Don't block [email protected] - this address is used for important account emails such as password resets.
Blocking a Snapchat Address Directly
If you've already deleted all Snapchat emails from your inbox, you can block the address manually without opening an email:
- Click the Block Sender icon in the Gmail toolbar and select "New Block" from the dropdown.
- Type "[email protected]" in the Email to Block field.
- Select "Delete (skip trash)" so blocked emails are automatically removed without going to your Trash folder.
- Click Save.
Whether you chose to unsubscribe or block, you should no longer see Snapchat's marketing and notification emails cluttering your inbox. If emails somehow continue to come through, blocking is the more reliable option since it works regardless of whether Snapchat honours your unsubscribe request.
Block Sender makes this easy with just a few clicks - and it works for any other senders you want to silence, not just Snapchat. Install Block Sender for Gmail to keep your inbox clean.
