Flipboard is known to share your information with 3rd parties. It's shown in their own privacy policy as of the time of this writing. Flipboard is also known for doing some heavy email marketing. There's an entire site from Flipboard showing the various details, tips n tricks, and tools to do it. Basically, whenever you add something to your collection, search, or follow on Flipboard, you not only provide your email address, but you also provide information to advertisers that you might have been only partially interested in from the start. But they don't really know that and may attempt to spam your Gmail inbox just the same.
Use these simple steps to block the Flipboard you no longer want:
- Install Block Sender for Gmail by clicking the "Install" button found in the upper right-hand corner of this site. The installation won't take long. Open Gmail when it is done.
- After signing up for a Block Sender account and linking your Gmail account to Block Sender, open the unwanted email from Flipboard, and click the "Block" button on the messages toolbar.
- Select the "Emails from this sender" option.
